Allie Chisholm-SmithAllie Chisholm-Smith, MES, E-RYT
True healing comes from self-knowledge. Self-knowledge (understanding), leads to self-love. It is through this blossoming that we are capable of finding wellness. Using Yoga, Counseling, bodywork, Reiki and her constant studies in Ayurveda, Allie encourages people to find self-knowledge and power from within. She has earned a Master's degree, is a certified Yoga Instructor and is trained in Yoga Massage. As with Ayurveda, Allie believes that as we heal ourselves, we heal the earth.

Allie is a uniquely gifted and talented yoga instructor. She has an excellent reputation as a teacher who not only provides fantastic classes of all levels, but who also works with disabilities and chronic diseases. I have referred my patients regularly to her classes with fabulous results. While Allie teaches yoga, she also encourages and fosters our self-esteem, our body appreciation, our physical and emotional self-awareness and our meditation skills.

Dr. Sarah McKinnon, MD, CCFP

Carolee HarrisCarolee Harris
I have been practicing and studying yoga for over 20 years and have been a faithful Ahimsa junky for the last 10! Studying under Allie Chisholm-Smith in 2006, with a 250-hour YTT, and needing more, more, more yoga. I am currently enrolled in a 500 hour in-depth training with Allie. As a triple A personality, I was drawn deeply toward the breath's ability to calm, nourish and replenish as well as its ability to energize, cleanse and detoxify. Yoga's ancient Vedantic philosophy teaches that the vital life force energy, "prana," which sustains our body and our mind, is in its most subtle form within each breath. I have been investigating yoga and the breath's ability to heal and support myself and others who are looking to release limiting behaviours, whether that be with food, with mood altering substances or unfulfilling relationships. May we all inhale more peace and exhale what no longer serves us.

Caroline HuttCaroline Hutt
Having been interested in wellness and spirituality for some time, Caroline fell in love with yoga the first time she practiced. Travelling and moving from place to place in her youth, she has discovered a home in yoga. Combining her degree in Cultural Studies with her training in yoga and experiences in life and nature, Caroline fuses spirituality and cultural thought in her eclectic teaching style. Re-establishing a connection with the earth and ground offers us a foundation upon which to flourish and emerge, so just as nature is ever-changing, her teachings offer a range of styles – from slow and reflective to flowing and dynamic.

Caitlin HuttCaitlin Hutt
After 15 years of dance training followed by 3 years of theatre school with a focus on movement and voice, Caitlin's interest in the artful expression of the body eventually lead her to Ahimsa's Yoga Teacher Training program. Prior to the program, she spent a year traveling throughout Spain and France practicing karma yoga at various retreat and healing centers, walking the Camino de Santiago and spent time at Thich Nhat Hanh's Plum Village buddhist monastery. She is excited to bring all that she has learned on her journey into her classes keeping it free and expressive, with a focus on strengthening and lengthening. "We must care for ourselves first, before we can truly care for others." She is inspired by all she has learned from Allie and honoured to be part of the studio.
